In this post, we explain how to quickly and easily add projected lights to your paintings or artistic works
We are going to work with projected shadows.
I will do my best to match the color of the leaves. I am painting using the stippling technique, creating dots to form the shadow.
If you are working with a larger canvas, you can add more detail. Take your time. Due to the smaller canvas, it becomes more challenging to achieve greater detail.
In just a few minutes, we have the shadows ready. We can subtly vary the tonality, then blend it all together.
We can also switch to a finer brush for more detailed work.
The shadows are not very pronounced since it’s a partly cloudy day.
If it were midday sunlight, for example, the lights would be stronger and more contrasting. It is crucial to choose the right type of lighting for our artwork.
