TECHNIQUE FOR TRANSPARENCIES II

In this post, we will continue exploring the technique for achieving transparencies. We will focus on refining the lights and shadows of the still life.

As mentioned in the previous post, it is advisable to let the artwork dry gradually. This prevents colors from blending together, allowing us to achieve more intense highlights characteristic of glass.

I left it there because later I will continue with the lights, based on what I do now.

Now, I will focus on the horizontal part of the wine, from the inside.

I work with the artwork positioned horizontally for greater comfort.

We can add a pinch of Indian Red to the mix. Be careful with this color as it is very penetrating.

Let’s now move on to the highlights on the surface. I work with pure white.

We return to painting vertically and follow the lines of the shadows we created days ago.

Finally, I add some small reflections at the base of the glass with the color of the grapes.

We now have another layer ready. Let it dry, and we will come back to it again.
